A member of Greta Van Fleet has been taken to the hospital. The band made the announcement a short time ago on their social media channels following yesterday’s announced postponement of their remaining two Michigan concerts on their “Dreams in Gold” world tour.
The band says while lead singer Josh Kiszka has mostly recovered from a non-COVID illness, guitarist Jake Kiszka’s condition has worsened to the point he has been hospitalized.
“Jake’s diagnosis is more complex,” the band wrote on social media. “What started as a small cough on Tuesday rapidly progressed overnight requiring his admission to the hospital yesterday. The last 24 hours have been arduous as doctors were unsure of the exact illness. Fortunately, after further evaluation, they are confident in their diagnosis of pneumonia and an optimal course of treatment has been determined.”
The band had already postponed last night’s Flint concert and tonight’s Ypsilanti show and have now postponed Saturday’s concert in Huntington, WV until August 10. Flint will now take place on September 13 with Ypsilanti rescheduled for the following night. Postponed show tickets will be valid for the new dates.
“We are grateful for your kindness and appreciate your positive support during this difficult time. We promise to give you the most up to date information as the situation progresses,” the band added on social media.
The postponements come just days after the band played at the Dow Event Center in Saginaw and kicked off their world tour at the Wings Event Center in Kalamazoo one week ago.
